Post by LyndsayT »

Dialectic Homework Due Co-op 16

1.GramSum

2. Vocabulary Words: foreseeable, fiscal, flourish, exert

3.Please bring one or two of your favorite things you have written in the past year or two. It can be something from Free Space Writing, from another class, from home, or from Dialectic Writing here at TOG. We will read these aloud at co-op 16.

4. Assignment:

*Write a 4 paragraph “Compare and Contrast Essay”

*This is NOT a persuasive essay, it is an essay meant to inform and find similarities and differences between two subjects. For example, we are not going to say one thing is better than another in this essay or what our opinion is about which is better or worse.

*Please begin with a Venn diagram and turn that in with your final draft.

*Refer to your notes for the structure options of the essay!

Ideas You Could Compare and Contrast:
Governments
Beliefs
Brands
Public School and Homeschool
Trends/Styles
Wars----French Revolution and the American Revolution
COVID and another illness we have a vaccine for

Most important question: What is different? What is the same?

ALSO:
Please bring your copies of the play you wrote earlier this year! We will try to run through that in class just for fun on week 16!

Also, please note the above homework assignment needs to be changed from a 4 paragraph essay to a 5 paragraph essay. I was mistaken! In class they will be instructed in TWO OPTIONS of how to do their 5 paragraph essay. Sorry for any confusion.

Hey Y'all! The kids decided to NOT practice their play so disregard that.

Let me know if you have any questions about the options for the 5 paragraph compare and contrast essay. This is in their notes but if you need to ask me, no problem.
