Writing due Co-op 7

Great news! No essay due next co-op...I misread the syllabus in class. Whew! It did sound like a lot of work as we discussed it aloud. (That essay is on the syllabus for co-op 8.)

Here is the assignment for co-op 7 (copied from the syallabus):

Read LAW ch. 6; jot notes in your book or on a separate page.

Complete all Questions, Assignments, and Vocab (typed)

Be ready to discuss and share paragraphs in class.


Note: IF you want to change the thesis for the argumentative paragraph (assignment #4, the one about girls and athletic events), you may select one of the following topic sentences instead. (You may find it hard to generate evidence for the one in the book. Sometimes that's a good exercise to force yourself through, but some topics are better than others for that sort of practice.)

Alternative topic sentences for Assignment 4 (remember, these are topic sentences for a single paragraph...not a full essay thesis):
-Girls are naturally suited to manage a household.
-Reading books is essential to being a good writer.
-Home economics should be required for high school graduation.
-The practice of raising children screen-free (adopted by some Silicon Valley parents) produces better thinkers.
