R History Co Op 12 and Speech

Hey guys,
According to the co-op calendar, we should cover three weeks of reading this week, but I will only cover weeks 26 and 27 in class. If you have permission from your parents you can adjust your reading accordingly, but you need to get that from them! We will focus on Russia in class and Diesm. This concept is big as we discuss the founding fathers, and it was definitely a result of the Enlightenment, which was occurring at the time
For Speech:
Think about what we're debating (our resolution about birthright citizenship) and come up with a problem in our current system (we call this a Harm). After you've identified a harm suggest a correction (this is called a mandate). Lastly, please explain how your harm and mandate stay true to the topic (Topicality), identify a big enough problem (Significance), solve that problem (Solvency), and how nothing is being done currently like your solution (Inherency).
Resolution: The United States Government should reform its policy or policies regarding birthright citizenship.
