Rhetoric Literature Co-op 13: Swift and Pope/Satire (POC: Mrs. Ingalls)

Attached please find the assignment from Mrs. Pepper.
Complete it as written. It also may be helpful to read the Literature pages in TOG week 34 (if yours corresponds with mine). This will overlap with the attached assignment but may give you additional insights. It directs you to keep an eye out for references to epics you may be familiar with from your TOG readings since Pope's work alludes to (in order to poke fun at) several of them.
The first Youtube video on satire, linked in the assignment, has a secular overtone and references but nothing in appropriate. Please watch all three videos. (Re: #3: Do I approve of Weird Al across the board? Maybe not, but I definitely appreciate this one!
And, across the board, he is a vivid example of the concept of parody.)
Happy reading! It's a pretty short assignment for reading this time; be sure to get your biographical and other info finished before reading. If you don't have Norton's, you should be able to find the works online.
