Art Coop #9

Dear Art Students,
I am reworking the plan for the rest of the year. It looks like we will concentrate on perspective lessons the next two coops. It is my hope to give you a solid understanding of the concept, some good practice, and some projects you may want to do/complete at home. In years past, I have had students create city blocks, make name plaques, etc. I have found that this is a subject that some students LOVE and others really can only just get through. It is IMPORTANT to have a good solid understanding of perspective, but not as important that you spend hours working on something you dislike....hence, my strategy.
So, although these next couple coops may only lend themselves to some of you producing "displayable" works, the rest of the year should have some neat projects. Pray for me as I work this next week to get the samples and lessons completed. We are looking at doing some plaster work, "fake" scrimshaw which incorporates some drawing, and painting - possibly impasto. I will try to have some videos/history/web links for further information as I have done in the past as well.
So, for this week and next coop, please bring your colored pencils/markers/"real" pencil and eraser/and a ruler (I do have quite a few of these if you don't bring one).
Looking forward to a great semester with your students!
