Rhetoric Literature Co-op #12 - Poets of 1600s/NeoClassical

Attached you will find the literature assignment for co-op #12.
This lesson has two parts. 1. An introduction to the Neo Classical Era - this information will take us through the end of the year. I have questions to guide them through the reading in Poetics, which is a document in their notebooks. Please do not let them wait until the second week to do this work. It will lay a foundation for the poetry.
2. Poetry of the 1600s - The poems are listed - I mostly just want them to thoughtfully read all the poems and minimal poet biographies. Then, they will choose one - their favorite - to answer the questions.
All this to say - this looks like a lengthy assignment, but it is not nearly as much as reading an entire novel or several acts of a play. Encourage them to spread out the work. Encourage them to read all the way through the assignment before starting.
Thanks,
LA Pepper
