Geography & Lit for Co-op 2

We had a really great first day of dialectic literature & geography!
Leyton Greeley did a fantastic job with his oral presentation on George Mueller and the students listened attentively and did well on a pop quiz over the information in his presentation.
Be sure to ask your student about the juicy geography project we did in class! Ask them what we were trying to demonstrate with the project… See if that made it through.
This week for geography the dialectic students should be practicing labeling their maps with the seven continents and five oceans. This can easily be done daily with a dry erase pen over the sheet protector containing the unlabeled map. We will have a quiz over this at our next co-op.
For the students who already know this information, I challenged them to draw the continents on a blank sheet of paper, then label the continents & oceans. This should not be super time-consuming or detailed but should only take 10 to 15 minutes. If they do this quick task daily, they will have it memorized by the time we meet again.
They should mark the equator and prime meridian with folds in the paper. One fold will create a vertical crease down the middle of their paper (prime meridian), and the other fold will create a horizontal crease across the middle of their paper horizontally (equator).
Today I equipped your students with a glossary of literary terms that we will be learning this year. There are two different pages in sheet protectors that they will use for this weeks assignment, as well as throughout the year.
In addition to the literature assignment that I gave out in class, please spend time ensuring your student commits the four literary terms to memory before our next meeting.
As always, please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions about the assignment.
With joy,
Crystal
