For co-op #4 the students will be giving presentations on their assigned state. If your child forgets which state they had, I have them posted below. These presentations are simply a chance to practice public speaking and to help solidify some of the state info/research. Presentations can include any interesting fact about their state: statehood, state flower, state bird, state song, any famous person from their state, any famous historical events from the 1800's that took place in your state, etc. Really, anything that excites your students to present to others is fair game.

They have been working hard during the last three co-ops with their map tracing and states/capitals/abbreviations. We have traced an outline of the continents (naming bodies of water), traced the thirteen colonies (learning capitals alongside those), traced the expedition of Lewis & Clark, traced and shaded the Louisiana Purchase territory, and the areas of influence around the War of 1812. They are doing a fabulous job of tracing, pointing out states, naming capitals, and connecting historical events within specific regions.

If you are doing any extra geography at home, I am following along with the TOG map aides.

Here's the presentation assignments for co-op #4:

Piper Hunt: Delaware
Karin Ingalls: North Carolina
Lily Kate: Rhode Island
Sophia Green: Pennsylvania
Ava: New York
Karsten Ingalls: Virginia
Isaiah Givens: Maryland
Isaac Meinshausen: South Carolina
Elisabeth Scroggs: Georgia
