Dialectic Literature & Geography Assignments for Co-op #5

Dear Parents:
Your students are making INCREDIBLE progress on their maps! I am so proud of them! Please ask to see the two maps they drew from memory in class today that I returned in the family folders.
We spent the first part of class talking through our literary definitions and discussing how they apply to Swiss Family Robinson. What was the theme of the story? What was the conflict? Resolution? Where did the author use allusion? We will continue to try to apply the literary terms to the stories we are reading throughout the year.
New Geography features have been added to Quizlet -- I appreciate that the students are enjoying Quizlet BUT drilling on Quizlet does not take the place of blobbing/drawing on a regular basis. While blobbing can easily be done by students without the help of a parent, and it should only take 10-15 minutes/day, please ask to see their maps to ensure they're blobbing accurately as far as placing the countries in the correct locations in relation to other countries.
Please find the Dialectic Literature & Geography Assignments for Co-op #5 attached. As always, parents are encouraged to adjust the assignment in order to best meet the educational objectives for their students. Please let me know prior to class if you adjust the assignment!
With joy,
Crystal
