Great class today as we discussed anthropomorphism, characters, plot and setting (in depth).

Most students did the SAP part of the assignment, but did not answer questions 1 or 3 from the assignment sheet, so this limited our discussion some. Please note that for some classes we may do the SAPs exclusively, others we will use them partially, and for some weeks they won't be required at all.

For Co-op 2 I did pull the assignment from the SAP, but it is NOT necessary to print the SAP to do the assignment. Parents, remember that answers to the SAP questions are in your TOG guide.

Also, please note that the answers for the next assignment should be bullet points for the character and setting, but complete sentences for the plot (5 sentences max).

With joy,

Crystal

Today we discussed the different types of conflict within a story (and within life). I did ask the students to write down the notes I put on the board. The students may select which of the three missionaries to read about. Please ensure they have a book that they can finish in two weeks.

Remember to scale if the assignment is too difficult for your student.

With joy,

Crystal

Dear Dialectic Parents,

Please find the dialectic literature assignment for Co-op 4 attached.
The students will be reading Anne of Green Gables which is a three-week read in the TOG guide. Fortunately, we have three weeks until our next co-op, however one of those weeks may be your fall break.

Please plan to either:
1) have your students read and finish the book over the course of the next three weeks
2) increase daily readings over the course of two weeks to ensure the book is finished prior to the next co-op
3) Opt for an audiobook or abridged version to allow your student to finish in time.

The written portion of the assignment will be very simple and quickly completed if the student has completed the reading.

With joy,

Crystal
