Co-op 16 Writing and Art
Posted: Fri Apr 19, 2019 4:09 pm
I'd like to give a very BIG thank you to Ellen and Lee Ann for taking my classes yesterday!! As I scrambled to make sure everything was covered for the classes, potluck and afternoon activities, those two ladies, in particular, were a great blessing to our family.
Ellen did a wonderful job of filling in for art and teaching the girls the basics of embroidery (thanks to Erica for stepping in and giving a hand). To follow up, I highly encourage the girls to finish the sampler as best they can so that they will be prepared for the project we have next co-op. The stitches they learn to embroider on the sampler will be used to create a felt bookmark they can use or give as a gift. I'd like to reiterate what I know Ellen told the girls, which was to finish the sampler (even if they replace the chain stitch with an easier stitch) and bring back their bags with the completed sampler, needle, unused floss and the stitch guide that was printed for them. They'll still need to bring scissors as well.
As far as writing goes, students will need to give me a hard copy of their stories, as well as be prepared to perform them in class. Props and signs will all be wonderful additions to their presentations. I'd like to have a small party to celebrate the end of a year of very hard work on their parts, so please copy and paste to sign up to bring a simple food below:
Fruit
Cheese
Orange juice
Breakfast bread
Mini-quiches - Green
Plates
Cups
Napkins
Blessings,
Phyllis
