Upper Grammar Writing - poem this week

It has been such a delight to have time with your students. It truly is an incredible class.
I hope the reports this time are going well. It is a little more than we have done before, but I tried to get them off to a good start in class.
You, of course, are welcome to take it any direction you like and ask me questions at any time. My goal for this time was they would have a rough draft that I can give them comments on, then for next co-op they will finalize their reports and begin work on their story (outline and rough draft - see next paragraph).
I am working on the syllabus for the next quarter. We are going to write a story. They may go completely original if they like, but in class we will talk about imitation of a fable or myth. We will outline one and talk about ways they could vary it, etc. They may use the one we do in class or chose another. I believe Margaret is planning on them making a book cover for the story they write, so you may want to help them pick something you would like to keep for awhile
And one last thing - just fyi, we are planning to recite our poem together at the opening next meeting (TOG 5). It is going to be so much fun!
