Speech/Rhetoric February 4

We are planning on Shakespeare sonnets and the Henry V monologue for the unit celebration. If there is interest in an additional Shakespeare night - or the theology/casserole discussions, please let me know and we will see what we can do. We could also do a Shakespeare read aloud which is a lot of fun, too.

I think I got the sonnets that you all wanted to do listed below. There are a few girls that are not assigned. I am perfectly fine with two of you doing one together if you would prefer that.

Please look it over and let me know if there are changes to be made. Those of you who have nothing after your name, please let me know if you are doing one with someone else, if you have one you are working on, or if I should assign you something.

Note, the three boys are doing Henry V (Leyton will not be there and Zach will be with the dialectic group this time.)

Tomorrow we will try to finish the interviews, work on the dramatic selections, and watch a couple of speech videos.

Remember the 3 things from Aristotle - Logos, pathos, ethos. Continuing to work on the things in writing class and logic ideas (including the logical fallacies, logic constructions, argumentation) will grow your logos. Much of your ethos and pathos come from story telling.
