Complete the assignments listed on the syllabus and expanded below:

Romantic Poets (Jody Ingalls)
1) Carefully read Literature section in TOG week 6 curriculum (quiz in class). PDF posted below.
2) Read the Poetics section referred to in assignment (p. 484-489 in Poetics (Appendix D, Metrical Poetry)
2) Read Wordsworth and Coleridge.
3) Be familiar with the terms listed in the Lit. section (some will be on quiz).
4) Complete beginning level questions in the week 6 curriculum. (Use your copy of "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" from your anthology. Make an extra copy if you have two siblings sharing, so each student completes a full scansion of the poem.)

Jody,

For the scansion of the poem, are they to write on their copy with the symbols and then turn that in or is this something that will be covered in class?

Thank you,
Tiffany

I’m pretty sure we are each supposed to fully complete the poem for the assignment on our own.

I apologize to be late in joining the conversation, Tiffany. (Once we have scheduled our assignments, I do not check the forum daily. :) )

I am hoping that the students will have the scansion completed on their poem from the anthology (or copy of the copy). I may collect them or just look at them in class to check for accuracy.
