Hello students!

We missed meeting with you today but trust you enjoyed your extended break. Attached are the structured notes and next four co-op’s syllabus. In order to be prepared for discussions next co-op, please complete the following homework.

1. Complete ALL the reading to include the supplemental “We Hold These Truths” assignments.

2. Complete structured notes and turn in. Be aware that a few of these questions are asking your opinions on some tough issues. The purpose of this is not to judge but to get us thinking about why we believe what we believe. Be honest and thoughtful in your responses and discuss with your parents for further insight.

3. Each student is to do a BRIEF explanation of one of the first 10 Amendments (the Bill of Rights). See the list below for your assignment. This is not expected to be an exhaustive summary but a short explanation. All the content is in the textbook. Some are chunkier than others but we want to hear from you, in your own words. The book suggests a skit so if you feel inclined.... but otherwise a brief explanation will do. ;)

1st Myra Black
2nd Grant Boren
3rd Jack Boren
4th Lucy Greely
5th Piper Hunt
6th Presley Hunt
7th Colin Ingalls
8th Brenna Jenkins
9th Margaret-Anne Kirkman
10th Jonathan Searl

4. And something just for fun should you want to interact with history. I found a simple game you can play to see how you would influence the voters of the original 13 states as they seek to ratify the constitution. You can find it here https://www.icivics.org/games/race-ratify

God bless each of you and your families! Stay healthy!
