Co-op 9 Jan 12 assignment
Posted: Thu Dec 08, 2022 11:33 pm
For January 12, please do the following:
1) Work with your sibling/partner (or individually as assigned) to create a 6 min lesson (2 minutes of that may be a quiz for those working in a pair) on your review topic (Verbs, Nouns, Modifiers, Phrases, Clauses--Adverb, Adjective, Noun). Use class notes to prepare.
2) Complete the Co-op 7 coherence exercises given in class.
3) Write an essay for the NRTL contest: https://www.nrlc.org/students/essaycontest/
I was WRONG...the word limit is 300-500 words, not 600! Uff dah! That's a paragraph, not an essay.
Step one: Answer the question prompt authentically, as we said in class. Give it some thought first. Why ARE you prolife? Simply answer the question in writing as you are led. Keep the basic ideas of topic sentence/short intro in the back of your mind, but basically just answer in the most honest words that come to you.
Step two: Check your essay (it should be 1-2 paragraphs with that word limit. Does it have a stated topic/thesis? Do you stick to it? Complete step 5 (editing process) from your coherence worksheet for this piece. Compare first and last draft (this should be at least a third draft). Note improvements for me.
3) SKIP VOCAB this time...if you find them, save them up for co-op 10.
4) Brainstorm and jot down ideas for the SOS essay (due JAN 31): https://www.sos.ky.gov/sos-office/Pages ... logan.aspx.
Note: there is no word minimum for this essay. Limit is 1000 words.
