Dialectic Literature Assignments

Post by BrandyG »

I'm sorry I'm a bit late. I was having technical difficulties last night. Brandon was wonderful and reformatted our computer but it cost me a bit in time and trouble.

I also realized that I did not include any supplies on the syllabus. They really don't need much. We are going to do some notebooking for literature but I have purchased the composition notebooks for this part of the class. They really only need a folder to turn in their assignments and a binder for organizing and keeping up with their assignments. A set of colored pencils would be helpful but I will bring some from home to share too.

They don't need anything but a good pencil with a good eraser for the first co-op.

Please have them print SAP before they start reading. The SAP for the first book is supposed to be done before you start reading. This is a really good habit because often the SAP needs to be completed as reading is happening so you can note page numbers.

Thanks Everyone!

Attached is the new literature assignment that will be due at co-op 4 on October 1st. I thoroughly enjoyed our class time discussing myths and legends. At co-op 3 we will be working on completing our illuminated manuscripts.

Blessings,

Will they need to print out more copies of the note booking pages than the ones they got in class, or is the attachment for extras if needed?

The attachment is for extras if needed. We didn't get as much done in class as I had hoped and I wasn't sure if while they were packing up for lunch if everyone got everything. I had Ellen ask and give out what was left behind during her class but wanted to be sure everyone had what they needed.

I've asked the kids to be certain they have needed supplies. Sharing scissors especially has been an issue. They need to bring scissors, glue, colored pencils, paper, pencil and their notebook to every class. Also, I don't want them to turn their homework into the box in the morning. I want them to bring it to class and turn it in afterwards. Thanks!

Thanks to Amber for teaching our class! She did a great job!

At our next co-op we are scheduled to work on our frescos but depending on where we meet will determine if we do this or if we switch our plans and do literature.

Please bring your homework to class and turn it in before you leave.

Keep in mind that your student technically has 6 weeks to read By Right of Conquest but that includes the week of Thanksgiving so just keep that in mind while planning.

Thank you, Brandy, for doing all of this hard work so our students can have a vocabulary definition list to pull from while reading. What a ton of work! You are greatly appreciated!
