Art - Perspective Follow Up and Prep for Coop #10

Post by MPiscatello »

Thank you, students, for a wonderful class today! We covered so much because you were attentive. I am so appreciative! Here is the follow up I promised:

In class today, I showed some examples of how to do your name as "Letter Buildings" (one point perspective, here are the samples:

NEAT - look at this painting and move the curser back and forth to reveal the vanishing point and the one point perspective lines... :D Very cool

There are other neat lessons on that site as well.

These are the VIDEOS from the National Gallery of Art. It is 5 parts - not evenly cut. I spoke about this in class. Taking The Trinity and making a 3-D computer model of the painting (showing that if the painting were "converted" to a "real room" what it would look like --how accurate the artist created this "flat room"! ) It also goes into several other AMAZING illusions created with art and perspective.

Look at this 2 point perspective and move the curser back and forth to see the TWO vanishing points and how it is drawn ....

SOOOO - I would LOVE to see any completed worksheets or drawings your students complete in one point perspective ... AND... PLEASE BRING THEM AND DISPLAY THEM AT THE UNIT CELEBRATION with your TABLE DECKING paintings and VASE sculptures!

With joy,
Mrs. P
