Dialectic History for Year 4 (2018-2019)

Please see attached for the first history assignment (due at co-op 1) and syllabus. Parents will receive a packet at the Parent Night that will include their student's key figure cards and timeline (first year dialectic students will also receive dividers and a zipper pocket for key figure cards). I'm attaching a sample key figure card so that if students begin reading before the Parent Night, they will know what information to make note of. If you or your student have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Carol or me. I added the assignment as both a word document and pdf - you'll only need one or the other.

We had a great first class in Dialectic History. Your girls were attentive and active participants. It is going to be a great year!

Attached is the assignment for Co-op 2 as both a word document and pdf.

Your students haven been assigned a topic to look for in their reading and be prepared to share about in class. THIS IS NOT A FORMAL REPORT - just a "sit in your seat and share a bit about what you read" opportunity.

All of these are included in the TOG recommended resource, The World Wars. If the resource you are using does not include much on these topics, you may want to direct your student to the supporting links on the loom. If you are having trouble, let Carol or I know or choose another topic for your student based on available resources.

Mamas, it was especially hard to create this assignment as we are covering 3 weeks of material (basically all of World War II) for next co-op. There are so many great threads and questions included in the reading. I have selected a few, but please feel free to substitute if you'd like in order to tailor it for what you would like your student(s) to focus on. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Please see attached for co-op 8 assignment. There is a possibility that our class will join the Rhetoric History class next co-op for a guest speaker. We did not get a map printed for next co-op but if your family has access to Map Aids, we highly encourage you to complete the week 17 dialectic geography assignment.

Thanks to Lucy and Margaret-Anne for catching the mistake on the Co-op 9 Assignment. I had left the last question from Co-op 8 on when I was editing. The corrected assignment has been posted, however if you have already printed or downloaded it, just let your student know they will not need to complete the question on Zionism again.
